Tutorials
We want to make it easy for you to use GoboPhone. These are short videos that walk through the things you will actually do — setting up your first site, adding a handset, deciding who is allowed to ring the phone in your kitchen.
Every video is captioned, and every one has a transcript you can read instead of watching. Click any line in a transcript and the video jumps to that moment.
Getting started
Start here if GoboPhone is new to you. Watching these in order takes about ten minutes and covers everything needed to make and take a call.

0:05 In this video, I’m going to show you how to get started with GoboPhone. First thing I’m going to do is click on “Login” in the upper right corner of the Gobo Studios website, and then click on “Create a New Account.” I’ll enter my email address. I’ll enter a display name, and then I’ll create a password and store it in my password manager.
0:30 From there, I’ll verify I’m a human, and then click “Sign Up.” The system sends an email. I’m going to go to my email and copy and paste the URL into this browser. Now I can click on “See Plans” under GoboPhone. I’ll go with the free plan, and now I can click “Open GoboPhone,” and it will take me to the website.
0:56 The first thing I need to do is create my VoIP.ms account. I’ll click “Sign Up Now” in the upper right corner. and fill out the form with my name, last name, email, phone number, and I’ll select “Personal” for the type of account. Then click “Continue.” Now I’m going to enter my address and define a password.
1:24 And then I’ll click “Sign Up Now.” Voip.ms will send an email validation. So copy and paste that URL or click it in your email to validate your email address. Then you can sign in for the first time.
1:44 I’m logged into VoIP.ms, and the first thing I need to do is verify my identity. And you do this using a mobile device. You just scan the QR code, and it will lead you through it. You do have to take a picture of your driver’s license, but they just need to make sure that you are a real person. When you complete the process, you’ll see a confirmation message on your screen, and VoIP.ms will tell you it will take one to two days for them to approve your account.
2:15 When you’re notified that your account is active, come back for part two.
More videos are being recorded and will appear here as they are finished. If there is something you want covered, say so — that is how the list gets decided.
Prefer to read?
Every tutorial carries a full transcript under the video. It is real text on the page, not a caption file the browser hides — so you can search it, copy from it, and read it without playing anything.
Stuck on something these do not cover?
Tell us what you were trying to do. If it is a common one it becomes the next video, and either way you get an answer from someone who runs this system themselves.
